Our gallery and dojo
When you step into Zen Natural Beds Gallery and Dojo in Caloundra on the Sunshine Coast, you’re immersing yourself in a rich respect for timber and craftsmanship. Embracing Japanese values and culture, Zen Beds founder Dan Walker has a deep reverence for nature. His design and creation philosophy is steeped in celebrating and supporting environmentally conscious practices. This includes sourcing sustainable materials, through to working in a carbon-neutral manufacturing space.
The transformation from ethically sourced pieces of timber to sophisticated works of artistic furnishing happens in my dōjō. This is the creative hub, where the air is thick with a true craftsman’s spirit, and where handmade timber beds, sofa beds and natural mattresses of the highest quality come to life.
Whilst most pieces are ‘handmade to order’, I can mix and match my range of futon beds, sofa beds and natural latex mattresses on display, in our warehouse, minimalist Japanese style Gallery in front of our Dojo, where you’ll see the results of my meticulous yet humble labours.
I welcome you to visit the Gallery and Dojo, to view my range and speak directly with me. We can discuss your individual requirements. I’m mostly in the Gallery open hours, however if you specifically want to talk with, please phone ahead, to make an appointment, so don’t I pop out.
