“Wood and I have always got along”
As a young boy, I already saw great beauty in well-crafted timber furniture and deeply sensed I had found my calling. After creating my first pieces – a small chair and table – at six, my passion continues to thrive and has never waned.
I’ve humbly dedicated the past three and half decades, to practicing and refining my skills as a handmade solid wood furniture maker, drawing inspiration and ideas from Japanese culture and artisans, and their deep respect for the world around them.
A craftsman’s spirit
With an innate understanding of, and passion for Japanese culture and craftsmanship, I produce solid wood beds and sofa beds that strive to be sophisticated in design and execution.
Embracing the mindset of monozukuri, I humbly pursue, manufacturing practices that are in harmony with nature, and of utmost value to society.
The entire creation of a Zen Bed truly transcends modern practices, invoking a spirit that brings out an undeniable essence of all materials used.
Following the thoughtful selection of high-quality sustainable materials, I employ calm, simple, and direct design principles, to produce furnishings that are stylish, comfortable, and environmentally friendly.
As an allergy sufferer, I understand the importance of sleeping on natural materials and have organically merged my love of furniture and wood, with my lived experience, personally reaping the benefits natural bedding provides.
My hand-made mattresses are not only allergy-friendly, breathable, and comfortable; they are also the perfect companion to my stylish timber bed frames.
My approach is more a philosophy rather than a technique or method, and as I work I find myself in a meditative state of flow, which I’m told and feel is evident in everything I create.

There is no middle-man, so you can be sure that I have meticulously taken every step, and been involved in every moment along the journey of creating your new bed.
